The Post-Tribune reports that two high school students were killed in a Gary auto accident.

The two young men left school during fifth period to meet up with some other students at a McDonald’s. A spokesperson for the Gary Community School Corp, says they were rushing back to school for a function when the Indiana car accident occurred.

The driver lost control of the vehicle and hit a utility pole. The force of the Gary auto accident caused the car to split in half, and one teen was thrown from the vehicle.

It appears speed may have been a factor in the Gary car accident, although it remains under investigation.
